The Pebidiog series was created by Llwyd using a combination of loose ink brushwork and liquid oil paint on board. Central to this process is the paint transfer method of decalcomania, famously used by the Surrealist Max Ernst to generate images through chance. The works exhibited here evoke landscape in myriad forms, inviting viewers to create their own interpretations of the work. The title Pebidiog, the pre-Norman name for the Cantref of St Davids, is intended to further connect the work to this enigmatic landscape.
